Coronavirus crisis: The early driver catches the burger at Grantham McDonalds

They were letting them in early at Grantham McDonald's today.

After reports of long queues and chaos at earlier re-openings in other parts of the country, burger bosses have obviously learnt with extra measures to prevent problems.

Letting people in before the 11am start would obviously help.

As would stopping right-turns as you head east down Bridge End Road.

In the nearby Spar car park, a few cars came by 10-30am to wait before they were allowed in around 10.45am.

And mask-wearing staff welcomed the drivers and all seemed to go smoothly.

Of course only time will tell, as they serve a restricted menu until 10pm.

You have to come by car though. It's drive-thru only.

Pity I walked. I caught a whiff of the burgers. I think I'll be back in the car sometime later.

McDonald's at Colsterworth was also due to re-open today.

The branches at Bourne and Stamford re-opened yesterday, also for drive-thru only, with Grantham and Colsterworth among the last of around 1,000 drive-thrus to re-open nationwide.
