Coronavirus crisis: Surge in Lincolnshire cases and no extra deaths
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Greater Lincolnshire has passed the 5,000 mark.
On Monday there were 117 new cases in the region, bringing the cumulative total so far to 5,102.
The UK coronavirus dashboard showed cases of COVID-19 in Lincolnshire increased by 68, another 28 in North Lincolnshire, and 21 in North East Lincolnshire.
Overall this means 510 cases have been confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire so far in just five days in October.
Over the weekend, cases of coronavirus in Greater Lincolnshire leapt by 317 over the weekend after a glitch last week missed thousands off the statistics nationally.
Since Friday, for example, South Kesteven has increased from 577 to 634 cases.
A new alert system has also been revealed, which will see lockdown restrictions based on three different reactionary levels.
NHS figures showed no further deaths in hospitals across the region today.
The government dashboard's death tally, which includes those both in and out of hospitals and those of residents in hospitals outside the county, also showed no further fatalities.
There were 820 cases in September, a 400% increase on August numbers.
Nationally, cases increased by 12,594 to 515,571 while deaths increased by 19 to 42,369.

This is an increase of 336 since Friday! This figure gives a rate more than four times that of Lincolnshire and almost five times that of South Kesteven. It is more than five times the Rutland rate. Leicestershire now has 5222 confirmed cases, giving a rate of 739.5 cases. This stems from a massive increase of 420 since Friday! Melton is up 25 to 294 since Friday, with a rate today of 574.1 cases per 100,000. Peterborough is up 81 to 1926 or 952.2 cases per 100,000. Rutland is up 16 since Friday, from 143 to 159, giving it a rate of 398.2 cases per 100,000. South Holland is up 20 at 779, with a rate of 819.8 cases per 100,000. And South Kesteven is up 57 since Friday to 634 today, giving it a rate of 445.1 cases per 100,000.
