More businesses across South Kesteven are receiving government money to help them survive the Coronavirus crisis.
South Kesteven District Council paid out business grants totalling £4.25million to 354 businesses yesterday and more will be paid out this week.
Last week, as reported by Grantham Nub News , SKDC received £32 million from central government to pay the small business grants.
The following day, council leader Kelham Cooke said the council paid out 921 business grants totalling £10,755,000.
Yesterday, Coun Cooke said 325 businesses received £4.25 million between them.
He continued: "In the 5 days since receiving the government grant we've paid more than 1,300 grants totalling in excess of £15m.
"We will be making grant payments every day this week. If you're eligible and haven't yet received your grant please email [email protected] or call 01476 406374 and our @investSK team will update you on progress."
Katrina Pierce, development manager for the Federation of Small Businesses in Lincolnshire commented: "I'd like to say a massive thank you to Lincolnshire's local authorities. As far as I know, all have acted very quickly to pay out to businesses in need. These grants are - without doubt - a lifeline right now."
Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak tweeted yesterday: "Every local authority in England has now received the full amount of grant funding they need to support local businesses. Eligible businesses in the retail, hospitality or leisure sectors have started receiving cash grants up to £25,000."
