Four more patients have died with Coronavirus in Lincolnshire, as the number of new cases in the county have shown a small increase, according to government figures.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust said the four new deaths mean that 28 in total have died had its hospitals – Grantham, Boston, Lincoln and Louth- but once again, the trust did not say in which of its hospitals the patients died.

A ULHT statement said: "The patients were three men aged 74, 82 and 86, and one woman aged 71. All had underlying health conditions."

This evening, Public Health England reported Lincolnshire had 277 cases (up two from yesterday), Leicestershire had 339 (up one), Peterborough 62 (up one) and Rutland remained on six reported and confirmed cases.

However, the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which serves the Stamford, Deepings and the Bourne area, reported a sharp increase in deaths compared with a statement it issued last week.

On Friday, the trust reported four deaths had occurred at Peterborough City Hospital and six at Hinchingbrooke.

Today, the trust said the total was now 23 at its hospitals- 14 at Peterborough and nine at Hinchingbrooke.

The statement added: "Patients were aged 30 to 90 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for COVID-19."

Nationally, the number of deaths increase by a record 786 to 6,159.

The number of reported and confirmed cases increased by 3,634 to 55,242.
