The death toll from coronavirus has continued to rise across Lincolnshire.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust today reported three further patients who were being cared for in our hospitals, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died, bringing the total number of deaths in ULHT hospitals to 45.

A statement said: "The patients were two men aged 65 and 85, and one woman aged 83. All had underlying health conditions."

ULHT runs hospitals at Grantham, Boston, Lincoln and Louth.

The North West Anglia Foundation Trust, which typically cares for patients from Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings, also reported more deaths today.

The trust, which runs Stamford hospital, said the number of deaths at its hospitals had now risen from 34 to 44 over the past two days.

Peterborough City Hospital has seen 25 deaths (up four) and Hinchingbrooke has seen 19 deaths (up six).

A statement said the patients were aged 30 to 90 years old and had pre-existing health conditions.

The mounting death toll comes as the number of people testing positive of coronavirus at the country's hospitals continued to rise.
