South Kesteven has 141 confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to government data released this afternoon.

For the first time, the figures from NHS England have now been broken down to district council level, as opposed to just county or unitary authority level.

The number shows the district has a rate of 99.4 cases per 100,000 population, better than many local authorities.

Nearby Rutland has 24 cases today, an increase of one on yesterday, giving it a rate of 60.5 per 100,000.

Meanwhile, there have been three further coronavirus-related deaths reported across Greater Lincolnshire in today's figures.

One more person died at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust hospitals, bringing the total at ULHT to 115.

A spokesman confirmed the patient was a 90-year-old man who had underlying health conditions.

Another two people have died at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole hospital facilities, bringing the total at NLAG hospitals to 79.

Lincolnshire County Council also confirmed today that 54 people have died at care homes around the county.

Chief Executive Debbie Barnes gave the latest figures on the authority's 278 care homes in a video on social media.

She said the care homes were looking after around 7,000 residents currently.

Mrs Barnes reassured viewers that the sector was "providing the safest possible care for vulnerable people despite the huge challenges" and added the council was committed to supporting those involved.

Nationally, the death toll from the virus has increased 539 to 30,615.

The number of confirmed cases across the UK increased by 5,614 to 206,715.

Across the region, Leicestershire saw an increase from 995 to 1,006.

Lincolnshire saw an increase from 896 to 903.

North East Lincolnshire saw an increase from 137 to 138.

North Lincolnshire saw an increase from 409 to 414.

Peterborough saw an increase from 278 to 284.
