Grantham Hospital will be providing free parking for all visitors from tomorrow, Thursday March 26.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, who operate the hospital, has already confirmed that staff car parking will be free from Wednesday 1 April 2020 until at least Friday 31 July 2020.

Until further notice, anyone visiting Lincoln, Boston or Grantham hospitals will be able to park in any of the car parks free of charge. This means that both visitors and staff can use any designated parking space on the sites.

Disabled parking bays will still be reserved for blue badge holders who should display their permit as usual. All other spaces will be free for everyone to use, but the Trust asks that motorists continue to park considerately and within designated parking bays.

ULHT says all of the payment machines will be covered over from tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

The move comes as ULHT has ended visiting to its hospital wards in a bid to halt the spread of Coronavirus.

The only exceptions are:

The maternity department will allow one birthing partner to attend

Parents who do not show the symptoms of infection can visit their children.

Any other visits are by exception only and typically will be granted on compassionate grounds agreed in advance with the nurse in charge of the ward. If granted, the majority of these visits will be taking place between 6pm and 7pm. No visitors under 16 will be allowed.
