Coronavirus crisis: 25 cases across Greater Lincolnshire and no more deaths

Twenty-five new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire on Thursday.

Government figures reported 18 new positive tests in Lincolnshire, two in North East Lincolnshire and five in North Lincolnshire.

This means there have been 187 cases in our region in the since September 1, compared to 204 for the whole month of August.

The county saw a surge in cases confirmed over the weekend, and health bosses have urged people to stick to social distancing measures in response.

New "Rule of Six" measures have also been brought in by central government as cases spiked nationally.

Meanwhile, people are facing delays of up to three days or long distance travelling as those without symptoms are asked not to book without good cause.

Nationally, cases have spiked by 2,919 to 358,138 cases, while deaths increased by 14 to 41,608.

There were no further deaths confirmed in NHS figures or in the government's own tally, which also includes deaths outside of hospitals or outside the county.

Earlier today, hospital bosses confirmed there were no coronavirus-positive patients in hospitals in Lincolnshire.

This compares to an England average of 549.2 cases, based on its total of 309,133 confirmed cases. Leicester today reported 5990 cases, up 37, equivalent to 1,691 cases per 100,000 of population. Leicestershire reports 3,857 cases, up 20, equivalent to 546.2 cases per 100,000. Melton is at 238, up 1, or 464.8 per 100,000. Rutland remains 3 at 120 (300.5). Peterborough is up 9 at 1694 (837.5). South Holland remains at 724 (762). South Kesteven is up 3 at 474 (332.8). Greater Lincolnshire also reports 390 deaths (no change) 267 from Lincolnshire (no change)

89 from North Lincolnshire (no change)

34 from North East Lincolnshire (no change)

of which 268 hospital deaths (no change)

144 at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (no change)

4 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)

1 at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (no change)

119 in Northern Lincolnshire (NLAG) (no change) Nationally, there are 352,520 UK cases and 41,608 deaths.
