Hougham and Marston Village Hall is one of the latest to sign-up to LotterySK, South Kesteven District Council's (SKDC) community lottery.

The facility, which comprises the hall plus a playing field and children's play area, is raising money to keep the building and field maintained and play area safe.

Three other new LotterySK members are Stamford's Blackstones Junior Football Club, Willoughby School - a special school in Bourne - and Bourne Town Bowls Club.

There are now 86 good causes registered and Bourne residents are being urged to buy tickets to support the lottery, set to contribute more than £74,000 this year to charities and community groups across the district.

Every weekly draw offers the chance to win £25,000, with 60p from every £1 ticket sold going to local good causes, twice the amount donated to charity by the National Lottery.

Cllr Kelham Cooke, Deputy Leader of SKDC, said: "We have some truly amazing people, many working voluntarily, helping others in community groups, sports clubs and charities.

"They need our support, so I am sending out a plea is for everyone to get behind all these good causes by buying a LotterySK ticket, which could also win a cash prize.

"It's a tremendous opportunity to support deserving causes on our doorstep."

LotterySK launched last year with the first draw last October netting one lucky Grantham ticket holder £25,000.
