Axe throwing coming to Grantham

By The Editor 12th Aug 2021

An axe throwing business is looking to open in Grantham later this year.

Rich Chapman hopes to launch Alpha Wolf Urban Axe Throwing at 21 High Street, in a former clothing store, later this year.

Already, as owner and manager, he has begun promoting the venture on social media.

The website has already gone live and it is also on Facebook and Instagram.

Rich said: "Currently we are selling gift vouchers for individual social axe throwing which allows any number of people to play on their own or with friends.

"If people want to come on their own, we can pair people up or throw with them.

"We have whole lane bookings where a lane can be booked out exclusively for up to six people and finally we will have a competition lane which is for up to 12 people."

Rich continued: "Buying gift vouchers now will give people a 3 day priority booking once we are open, which will include an open day."

"Once we are open we will have 5 individual axe throwing lanes and 2 competition lanes which are essentially 2 lanes side by side where we hope to house competitions and leagues In the future."

Snacks and drinks will also be available.

At present Rich has a planning application for 21 High Street and is awaiting approval before work can start on converting the building.

He is currently unsure when the premises will be ready, but he hopes to open the business in the autumn.

This type of venture is relatively rare and new, with similar businesses operating in Lincoln, Sheffield and Tamworth.
