There are signs that Grantham could be served a second McDonalds.

The fast food giant has applied to South Kesteven District Council to erect a variety of signs and a 15-inch digital booth screen on land at Downtown, Gonerby Moor.

No further details are given, but the application does show the location of the restaurant and drive through off the B1174.

The development would provide a boost to the Downtown Superstore, which has ambitious plans to create a designer outlet with more than 100 stores, creating 1,700 jobs.

There would also be 2,000 parking spaces, offices, and leisure provision as part of the £125M project.

The Downtown Grantham Designer Outlet at the northern end of town comes as another scheme is set to be built to Grantham's south.

The £100M scheme from Rioja Estate is due to open in 2023, as previously reported by Nub News.
