Grantham Hospital: Campaigners plan hearty protest with love
Hospital campaigners plan a hearty protest with love tomorrow.
The Fighting 4 Grantham Hospital group will stage a socially distanced protest from 11.30am to 12.30am.
Some 100-200 people are expected, similar to their other recent protest.
The group's Mel Powles told Grantham Nub News the event will also see the launch of their 'hearts' campaign.
Posters and other literature featuring hearts will be given out for the campaign, which F4GH hopes will spread across Grantham, with them becoming as commonplace in the windows of houses as rainbows are to mark the pandemic.
The campaign has been boosted by funding from councillors Ray Wootten, Adam Stokes and Mark Whittington.
Two Grantham printers are also helping the campaign.
F4GH also hopes to see the hearts used on social media to spread the word.
Mel said: "I felt that these should work for every age gender and view point, and hopefully unite the community. So I want to see Grantham a wash with hearts, in windows, cars, T shirts, etc. Let the community do with them as they wish."
She added: "We need to galvanise the community, even those who are sick and tired of campaigning.
"We love Grantham and we love our hospital and we want it back."
