A seat has been unveiled in Grantham dedicated to Covid-19 pandemic victims.
A dedication ceremony was led by Robert Holland Funeral Directors for the memorial bench made and donated by Chris Kennedy from Grantham-based Roll and Scroll, who have gained national acclaim for their memorial benches.
Rev. David Shenton from St. Anne's Church blessed the bench, which is located in Grantham Cemetery just below the steps that lead to the Hills and Hollows.
Representative's and members of the South Kesteven District Council, including council leader Kelham Cooke and council chairman Breda Griffin, also attended yesterday's ceremony.
Coun Cooke commented: "It was an honour to accompany our council Chairman to the unveiling of the new Memorial bench in Grantham cemetery.
"The bench is a fitting tribute to all those who have lost friends or family to Covid-19 and I can only repeat South Kesteven District Council's commitment to do everything in our power to halt the spread of this dreadful virus.
"Once again Chris Kennedy from Roll and Scroll has stepped forward to create and donate a very special bench which will act as a lasting memorial to the very difficult times we are living through, and we owe him a debt of thanks for that."
Chris told Nub News: "I am proud to have made it to who have died because of the pandemic. It is only fair to remember those too."
