Year 8 students at a Grantham school have been told to stay at home today.

The appeal follows a Year 8 student at King's School, Grantham, being confirmed as having coronavirus.

In a message sent to parents and carers yesterday evening, headmaster Simon Pickett said: "I am very sorry for the late hour of this email, however, I have only just received confirmation of a positive COVID-19 test results for a boy who is in Year 8.

"Can you please keep your son at home on Monday 12 October, he must self isolate at home. We will establish all remaining contacts that have been under 2m for more than 15 minutes on Monday and take further advice from the Regional Health Protection Team.

"I would hope to be able to give you an update by midday on Monday. If you can pass this message on to any other parents or carers who may not receive this email, please can you?"

Mr Pickett then apologised for the last-minute message, also calling for students to prepare for online classes today.
