Woolsthorpe Manor: business as usual

By The Editor 10th Apr 2019

Woolsthorpe Manor, birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton, will reopen today as normal after a break-in forced the National Trust property to remain closed yesterday.

Visitors were notified that the property would not open on the National Trust website and Woolsthorpe Manor's social media channels.

It's Facebook message stated: We are CLOSED today Tuesday 9 April due to a break-in last night.

"The Manor itself was not affected by the incident. We are currently working with the police and assessing the minor damage caused."

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said officers were called to the historic property in Water Lane, Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, at 5am yesterday following a report of a burglary.

"It is not believed anything was taken. If anyone has any information, please contact us on 101 quoting incident 29 of 09/04," it adds.

Woolsthorpe Manor will open at 11am today.
