A Grantham-born author is reporting success with her first book that she wrote during lockdown.

Cate Cullington, who now lives at Ancaster, went to Kesteven & Grantham Girls School, followed by Grantham College.

The mum-of-two then studied at Plymouth University and obtained an Arts degree.

Her career was initially in the social housing department for many years at South Kesteven District Council, before joining the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust in 2015 to work as an administrator.

Cate told Nub News: "I've worked predominantly at home throughout lockdown because of the changes that were made to Grantham Hospital and the decision to try and keep it COVID free.

"It's been an extremely difficult time for my colleagues on the front line I have nothing but admiration for the way they have coped with the pandemic and now continue to manage the vaccination program, they are truly amazing."

Cate continued: "Working part-time has now allowed me the time and space to write The Stones which is my first book and was published in October.

" It's doing really well and I have now managed to write two more books which will be published soon.

"I like reading and watching crime dramas so it seemed a natural genre for me to write but I don't set any limitations for myself and I'm looking forward to writing other genres too."

Cate added: "I have two grown up daughters, Melissa and Tammy who now have families of their own.

"We're all very close and see each other as often as we can.

"Outside of working and writing I like to play golf and it has been lovely to return to it this week.

"I'm married to Steve and we both play regularly at Stoke Rochford Golf Club."

Details of the book and how to buy it can be found here.
