Major tour operator Tui has confirmed the closure of its Grantham branch.

The outlet at 36 High Street has been looking a sad sight lately, with its Tui branding removed and the premises remaining empty.

The closure followed Tui announcing plans to close 166 branches last year as working patterns changed, fuelled by the pandemic, as previously reported by Nub News.

A Tui spokesman told Nub News this week: "Due to continued pressure on the high street and travel as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made the difficult decision to close the our store in Grantham.

"As many of our travel advisors as possible have been offered positions in other stores, or in our new homeworking or contact centre teams where they continue to provide customers with expert advice and service."
