Traffic chaos as man, 69, found dead by A1 near Grantham

A man, aged 69, has died following an 'incident; on the A1 Great North Road, Barrowby.

Emergency services attended at around 6pm following a report of a body of a man near the Millennium Bridge.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin are aware and police are supporting the family at this time.

The A1 was closed in both directions between the A52 at Barrowby and the A607 Harlaxton Road for several hours, with diversions in place.

An Air Ambulance was also called to the scene.

Lincolnshire Police said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at around this time to contact us."
