Detours are underway on the A1 southbound between the Gonerby Moor and the A46 turn-off at Newark.

By 6.30pm traffic queued a few miles short of Newark, a distance of around ten miles, following the incident which was reported around 4.30pm.

AA Roadwatch says a car has rolled over on the A1 north of Grantham.

The incident happened at the turn-off for Marston, a notorious blackspot, where right-turning traffic crosses the carriageway.

Witnesses told Nub News that the accident looks 'serious', considering how the car had flipped over.

However, as yet we have no confirmation of any injuries or fatalities.
