South Kesteven District Council: Will country village pub near Grantham finally become housing?

Local News by The Editor 26th Mar 2020

Fresh plans have been submitted to convert a long-empty village pub near Grantham.

Andrew Derry of Ropsley Developments, Farndown, Newark, wants to convert The Ropsley Fox at 23-25 Grantham Road, Ropsley, into three homes.

His application to South Kesteven District Council is to change the use of the 300m2 building on a 0.13ha site.

It said work started on the conversion into a two-bed, a three-bed and a four-bed house in 2018 but it was not complete.

The Ropsley Fox closed in 2012 leaving the village close to Grantham with the popular and award-winning Green Man as its only pub.

But when it was operating, the Ropsley Fox was a popular venue noted for its 'first class meals.'

The site was previously subject to other housing plans, including one that also featured a 'community facility'.
