South Kesteven District Council to collect 'real' Christmas trees

South Kesteven District Council says it will collect householders' real Christmas trees for recycling.

Householders do not have to be part of the council's green garden bin service and collection will be free.

People are asked to leave their real Christmas tree out on the day green bins are collected in their street.

Earlier this week, SKDC said bin collections are back to normal , so it's Black Bin week for your regular waste, which includes Christmas wrapping, PPE including face coverings - plus takeaway pizza boxes.

The council added residents can recycle paper/card, glass, plastic and metals, so long as they're clean and dry.

Following news of the country's third national lockdown, the council also says it is continuing to provide most services as normal, within the restrictions set out by government.
