Fortnightly collections for South Kesteven District Council's 2020/21 Garden Waste Collection Service scheme start on Monday April 6, which means it's time to renew or sign up for the service.

Last year over 29,000 residents joined the scheme, and they will shortly be contacted to remind them to once more take advantage of the service, which is also available to new members.

SKDC's Cabinet Member for Commercial and Operations, Coun Dr Peter Moseley, said: "If you join today, you'll be ready to start gardening when spring is fully under way.

"It represents value for money with the reassurance that all of the green waste collected across the district is taken to a local facility where it is turned into compost suitable for agricultural use.

"There is no limit to the number of garden waste bins you can buy, so whatever amount of green waste you produce, we can deal with it for you quickly and efficiently."

Customers will be able to renew or register from Friday, February 28, paying by direct debit online here.

A bin sticker and/or bin will be delivered in time for the start of the new collection year which begins on April 6, so remember to put your sticker on your bin as soon as you receive it.

The council says residents need not worry if they haven't received the sticker by April 6 as it will still empty your bin if you have paid to join or re-join the scheme.

The cost for the year-round service in 2020/21 is £41.

Customers pay £36 if payment is made online or by direct debit. New customers would pay £72 by direct debit (Bin £26; Delivery £10; Fee £36) or £77 if they pay by phone or in person.
