Businesses across South Kesteven have this week received millions of pounds of central government support to help them re-open after lockdown.
Coun Kelham Cooke, the leader of South Kesteven District Council and chairman of SKDC's economic regeneration company InvestSK has praised the amount of support being given.
He said: "With the High Street's re-opening this week it has been great to see the teams at both InvestSK and South Kesteven District Council work together quickly to ensure that the Government Funding provided for businesses has been paid out.
"These grants are for the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors with a one-off grant, to reopen safely as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
"So far this week 555 grants have been issued to the value of £3.9m with more set to be paid out today. I know how vital these funds are to businesses and it has been great to visit our local High Streets and to see them come back to life again."
To date, InvestSK has now distributed nearly £50m of grants and funds to businesses over the last 12 months.
Any business in need of support or advice is asked to contact InvestSK on [email protected] or call 01476 406374.
