Soccer star Jamie Vardy has gained planning approval for a two-storey extension to his farmhouse in a village south of Grantham.

Jamie and wife Rebekah sought planning consent from South Kesteven District Council concerning their home at Stainby, near Colsterworth.

As previously reported by Nub News, the extension will feature four extra bedrooms, giving them 12 in total.

The application, submitted by Melton based HSSP Architects, says the two-storey extension will be at the eastern side of their property.

Recommending approval, a planning officers' report for SKDC said the local parish council made no comment on the application and there were no letters of representation received from the public.

The report added the application was 'acceptable in principle' as it reflected existing designs and was sympathetic to the host dwelling.

It was also not visible to the outside of the property and thus would not impact on the character of the area, it said.
