Seven charged following Grantham 'weapons' incident

Seven teenagers have been charged in relation to a disturbance in Grantham town centre in November.

All have been charged with conspiring to cause GBH with intent and will appear at Lincoln Crown Court on 23rd February 2021.

The charges follow an initial 11 arrests after police received reports from the public of people carrying weapons on the evening of Saturday November 7.

Armed officers deployed to the area and arrests followed the incident, which started in and around Wyndham Park and ended in the Greyfriars area.

In time, 16 arrests were made, as previously reported by Nub News.

Police continued their investigations, which included appeals for video footage, leading to the charges announced today.

Lincolnshire Police today named the charged as:

Mussa Camara (18) of Artindale, Bretton, Peterborough.

Kennedy Ikwuemesi (18) of Wood Street, Barnet

  • Temi Odewale (18) Pondfield House, Highbury New Park, Islington (*also charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence)

Mikkel Okechukwu (18) of Braybrook, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough

Socaine Bassi (18) of Carver Road, Boston

Two 17-year-olds have also been charged and cannot be named for legal reasons. They are from the London and Huddersfield areas.

Bassi has been remanded in custody and the two 17-year-olds are remanded in youth custody. The others are on bail until the 23rd February.
