Queueing systems back at Grantham Morrisons

By The Editor 22nd Sep 2020

Queueing systems are back at Morrisons, including in Grantham.

The supermarket giant has made the change as part of a wider programme of initiatives, including a three-week deep clean, announced last week to boost Covid-19 security, as Nub News reported last week.

This week, however, Grantham social media has been abuzz with conversation about the return of the queueing system seen at the height of the pandemic.

Many welcomed the move to boost safety, though others questioned it may be more appropriate in the supermarket's Yorkshire heartland where Covid-19 cases are higher than here in Lincolnshire.

Another comment was the changes may worsen queueing and put people at greater risk.

A Morrisons spokesman told Nub News: "We introduced new measures last week. We've had a range of hygiene measures planned for a while."

The spokesman added: "Marshalls will greet customers at the store entrance, helping ensure the store doesn't get too busy and making customers aware of where they can get free hand sanitiser and trolleys."
