A new bin for paper and card could be in place in households across the district early next year.
The idea to introduce a new 'purple' bin is being considered by South Kesteven District Council (SKDC).
The move is part of a countywide mission to offer separate paper and card collections across the whole of Lincolnshire by 2024.
West Lindsey is the third and most recent local authority to roll out this new 'twin stream' recycling collection, following Boston Borough Council and North Kesteven District Council.
South Kesteven and South Holland will be following suit as Lincolnshire County Council strive to implement the change across the county.
Cllr Daniel McNally, executive member for waste at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "We've successfully rolled out the separate paper and card bins in Boston and North Kesteven, and now we're looking forward to working with West Lindsey to bring the purple bins to the district.
"Separating out our paper and card means we can improve the overall quality of our recycling. And, by sending it directly to a specialist processor in the UK, we're cutting the road miles it travels and reducing carbon emissions."
The introduction of the new bins in other areas of the county have seen success, with contamination rates dropping and thousands of tonnes of paper and card being recycled as a result.
The scheme would see paper and card can being kept clean, dry and separate from other recycling so it can be sent to a dedicated UK processor.
It would also replace one of the existing fortnightly recycling collections, meaning that there would be no increase in mileage, keeping the associated carbon emissions of the council fleet down.
Costs would be met by Lincolnshire County Council, which is responsible for disposing of waste across the county.
It is proposed that the roll-out of separate paper and card collections would begin in the autumn with publicity and delivery of bins.
Bins could be seen on the streets as early as February 2024.
