A popular Grantham steakhouse has announced it is to re-open next week by offering al fresco dining.

It also plans to launch a take-away / click and collect service.

Miller & Carter on Barrowby Road has been closed for months as part of the government lockdown.

Until May 17 restaurants and cafes can only offer take-away or outdoor dining.

When the government allowed hospitality venues to offer such a service from April 12, some Miller and Cater steakhouses opened to offer al fresco dining.

Now, after erecting outside seating areas, Miller and Carter in Grantham to to join them as a run-up to opening 'properly' on May 17.

The restaurant has posted on its Facebook site : We are opening for al fresco dining as of 8th May- 16th May.

The post continued:

We will open at 12pm, last table at 7pm and closing at 9pm daily.

It will be a reduced menu that we will confirm soon.

Maximum table is a 6 and we have limited numbers of them. We can't take any requests for tables to be near each other or interaction or movement between tables for covid regulations.

Remember to include any children or highchairs in that number of guests.

It is outside with limited cover space, so bring a blanket and weather dependent.

It is booking for food & drink and we recommend doing it in advance, we do have some tables available for walk ins just for drinkers but subject to availability.

All tables have a limited time at the table.

All guests over 16 must check in on track & trace or via our system."

The post added: "â—We will also be launching a click & collect system, yes takeaway is coming, more information coming soonâ—"

"Bookings can be made via our website and for indoor dining from 17th May."

In the meantime, Miller and Carter also says it is recruiting for staff as part of the re-opening and it has a variety of roles available.
