The popular Knipfest is returning later this year after missing out on 2020 due to the pandemic.

The organisers have said on social media that the event will return on August 7.

They said on Facebook: "SAVE THE DATE!!

"After much hard work and deliberation, we are over the moon to announce #KNIPFEST 2021 is good to go!"

Knipfest takes place at Woodnook, the home of Kesteven Rugby Club.

The village festival which attracts bands from around the country started in 2010 as a fundraiser to help Cancer Research.

It was created in memory of Julie Copley of Grantham, who died of breast cancer aged 41 in 2010.

The charity fundraiser has grown to attract 2000 people a year and has over the years raised £160,000 for cancer research and local hospices.

The last event in 2019 raised more than £25,000.

Music lovers have welcomed the news.

Michelle Pittam said: "Brilliant news it's a great day "

Jemma Wright said: "Whoop whoop "

Sarah Hollinshead commented: "Fantastic!"
