Night time road closures on A1 northbound at Grantham to continue

Night time road closure are to continue on the north bound of the A1 where it meets the new southern relief road.

The closures are allowing Galliford Try to carry out piling works for the new bridged junction.

In an update, Lincolnshire County Council has detailed what was achieved in April in the construction of the road which will bypass Grantham to its south.

"Continued bored piling works to firm the abutment and wingwalls of the new underpass

"Continued earthworks to the western and eastern roundabouts and slip roads, including lime modification

"Commenced piling works adjacent to the northbound A1

"Continued archaeological works for Phase Three east of the railway

"What's happening in May

"Complete bored piling works to the western half of the new underpass

"Continue earthworks to the western and eastern roundabouts and slip roads, including lime modification

"Begin drainage works for the western and eastern roundabouts

"Complete bored piling works and install temporary sheet piling adjacent to the northbound A1

"Continue final archaeological works and carry out ground surveys and trial holes for Phase Three

"Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures "None confirmed beyond May "Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures "Full night-time lane closure on the northbound A1 between Little Ponton and Harlaxton on weekday evenings (M-F) from 8pm to 6am until Wednesday 20 May "- Diversion route via A606 at Stamford to A607 to A1 at Harlaxton "- No closure on Friday 8 May due to bank holiday

50mph speed limit and narrow lanes on the A1 between Harlaxton to Little Ponton."
