Aldi has won total backing from South Kesteven District Council for a new Aldi on Harlaxton Road, Grantham.

Members of its planning committee have just now approved the application from the growing supermarket giant.

Councillors praised planning staff and the company coming up with an improved design.

Stamford-based councillors at today's meeting hoped the company and SKDC planning staff would similarly work on better design for Aldi's supermarket application off Uffington Road.

Planning committee chairman Bob Adams said he would look into the matter.

Among the supporters of the scheme, Coun Louise Clack welcomed the jobs the project would bring. She also called for close co-operation between the supermarket and local residents on 'community' issues.

Full details of the scheme were previously reported by Nub News here.
