Road closures will take place during a £2.7million repair to two railway bridges in Grantham.
The strengthening work to carry the East Coast Main Line will be over the two bridges at Barrowby Road and Springfield Road.
This involves repairs to the steel and brickwork, re-waterproofing the bridges, and re-painting sections of them to make sure they are fit for the future.
Network Rail says the work has been planned carefully so that it only affects traffic using one bridge at a time.
A spokesman said: "This will help reduce the amount of disruption to people and businesses in Grantham, which I know is especially important as we look to reopen the economy following the restrictions which have been in place during the Covid-19 pandemic."
Network Rail plans to carry out the improvement work at Barrowby Road between September and December 2020.
This will then be followed by work at Springfield Road between January and March 2021.
Barrowby Road will be closed to motorists from 6am on Tuesday 1 September until Friday 4 December. A signposted diversion will be in place for drivers, and access will be maintained for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Once Barrowby Road reopens, both roads will remain open over the extended Christmas period.
Springfield Road will then be closed from January until the project is completed next March.
There is only one weekend when both roads will be closed – Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November – when work is taking place to improve the drainage on both bridges.
Train services will also be impacted over that weekend.
