Missing Grantham woman Dee Hawkins has been found safe after a search for her across two counties.

Dee's family launched an appeal which was shared by thousands after the 41-year-old, who was described as 'extremely vulnerable', was last seen on Tuesday, boarding a bus from Grantham to Bottesford.

After no contact for 24 hours, Dee's bank card was used in Cambridge on Wednesday afternoon so the focus switched from Lincolnshire to Cambridgeshire.

Now her sister-in-law Lesley has confirmed that she has been found safe, and she thanked evereyone for their support in helping to trace her. She is understood to have walked into Cambridge Police Station this morning.

Lesley said: "Her husband Rob has asked me to personally thank every single person who has shared, sent messages and left comments. He, and all of Dee's family and friends ,are more grateful. The words 'thank you', seem futile in the gratitude we all feel, but everyone's kindness and compassion has been overwhelming."
