Around 2,150 children took part in the annual inspire+ Mini Olympics at South Kesteven District Council's (SKDC) Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham this week.
Youngsters from primary schools in the town, as well as Stamford, Market Deeping, Spalding and surrounding villages, participated in the three-day event with the theme The Greatest Sports Show 2019.
Charity Ambassadors including Paralympian track and field athlete Sam Ruddock, Paralympian high jumper Jonathan Broom-Edwards, Olympic swimmer Sophie Allen and multi-marathon runner Ben Smith joined the celebrations.
Cllr Helen Goral, SKDC's cabinet member for growth and leisure, said: "The Mini Olympics is such a magical event for everyone involved. It has become one of the highlights of my year.
"It's important that we continue to support, encourage and accommodate sport and leisure facilities within the district as events like this inspire people to try new sports, become more physically active and lead healthy lifestyles."
Inspire+ Chief Executive, Vincent Brittain, said: "We are delighted that the Mini Olympics has now grown to a three-day mass participation event which this year has seen thousands of children taking part.
"We hope the experience is an inspirational one encouraging young people to try different Olympic and Paralympic sports which will develop skills and inspire them into a lifestyle of physical activity."
Local business sponsors supported the event and the charity's Young Ambassadors played a key part in setting up and running the games.
