A mental health charity is seeking volunteers in the Grantham area to help it support people in need.

An appeal has been launched on social media by trainee counsellor Susan Fish.

Susan said: "Myself and the charity are looking for people to join my first response team, in and around the Grantham area for a few hours a week voluntary work.

"This will involve being there for someone in crisis, to respond to the individual either by phone or home visit, and staying with the individual until you have sought the right help and care. This will also include a few hours a week answering calls and emails."

Susan continued: "You can gain qualifications along with a certificate on completing any courses which are all covered by Unlock Your You.

"We are a BACP Registered Member Organisation. We provide Mental Health support through our helpline and also counselling sessions without the need of a waiting list. All volunteers are fully trained Mental Health First Aiders."

The group plans to work with other agencies, including GP surgeries.

Susan added: "If you would like any more information or to put your name forwards, then please contact me and an interview will be set up in due course alongside the founder of Unlock Your You.

"Our website if you would like to know more about us is

www.unlockyouryou.com" Those interested in applying are asked to send their r CV and a cover letter, saying why you would like to volunteer with the group. Send to [email protected] and he will then arrange for interviews in the next couple of weeks and arrange training.
