More than 115 new parking spaces are promised by London North Eastern Railway (LNER) at Grantham Station.

The company will shortly begin on an improvement project to

enhance the road and car parking facilities on previously unused land next to the station. The scheme will also include the refurbishment of the existing car park, installation of new CCTV and energy efficient LED street lighting as well as new crossing points, road markings and resurfacing along Station Road. During the work, which is due to begin later this month, customers are advised to arrive slightly earlier than usual to navigate any traffic management measures in place. Claire Ansley, Customer Experience Director at LNER, said: "This investment in improving the road and parking facilities will enhance the experience for all our customers catching a train at Grantham station. "The additional spaces will increase capacity for people driving to access LNER train services, whilst additional signage and lighting will make it easier for pedestrians to get to and from the city centre. We look forward to work getting underway soon and giving Grantham station a facelift." Further improvements will also be made to the taxi rank area and additional signage will be installed to help customers navigate to and from the station.
