"My name is Wayne Hasnip, I am 48 years old and live in the Grantham North Division.

I have lived in Grantham for 27 years. I have worked in various locations in Grantham. I spent 10 years working at Fenland Foods before it was closed down in 2008 and more recently at Poundland.

I current volunteer at the British Heart Foundation. In my spare time I enjoy going to watch Grantham Town football club and I am very supportive of Manchester United.

I have supported the Labour Party for a number of years and I stood for election to South Kesteven District Council in the St. Wulfram's ward in 2019.

Now Labour is under new leadership with a new vision for the country. I believe that these important elections are a change to rectify the cuts to essential services within the county under the current administration.

A vote for Labour on 6th May will be a vote for change.

My priorities if I am elected as your Labour candidate are:

• Health & Social Care

• Regeneration of the High Street

• Tackling the climate emergency

• Continue support for local bus routes and ensure levels of service are maintained.

• Lobby for improved mental health services to support the growing mental health problem being caused by the pandemic.

So vote Labour on 6th May, so we, as Labour councillors, can start to rebuild our beautiful county."

  • Could candidates please email details about themselves as Wayne has, saying a bit about themselves, previous political experience and achievements, a career and clubs and societies background, what you hope to achieve and anything else you want to add.
