My name is Paul Wood and I am your Independent candidate standing for election on 6th May 2021 for Lincolnshire County Council in the Hough Division which covers the following 15 villages north of Grantham (Great Gonerby, Long Bennington, Foston, Marston, Hougham, Brandon, Gelston, Hough-on-the-Hill, Claypole, Stubton, Fenton, Caythorpe, Fulbeck, Carlton Scroop and Normanton.

I ask that you place your vote for me as your local Independent County Council candidate. I am experienced, reliable, successful and a safe pair of hands willing to help and serve the local community. I have a desire to continue to serve the community and get things done. I have been a District Councillor for 18 years. I am the Leader of the Independent Councillors on SKDC and I serve on several committees. I have previously served for four years as County Councillor for Hough Division. I have experience as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and I have worked at Director level in local authorities and the private sector. I know how Councils work and this enables me to challenge the authorities to get results for residents. Your Village needs a strong Independent voice on the County Council; someone who knows the area, who is ready to help and is easily available. I am the only truly local candidate for this election having lived in Long Bennington for over 30 years. Paul's Priorities for You

Potholes and Roads – Lincolnshire CC have a dreadful record of repairing potholes with poor workmanship resulting in potholes only lasting for a few months before they need to be redone.

LCC must invest in modern pothole repairing machine. Many roads in your villages require urgent attention. I call on LCC to undertake an urgent and complete review of procedures regarding pothole repairs

Management costs – Lincolnshire CC have high management costs with

1 CEO earning exceeding £180,000

5 Directors earning @ £130,000 each

16 Assistant directors @ £90,000 each and 19 Heads of Service @ £80,000 each Village Character and Development – Your village must be protected from developments which are not in keeping with the rural setting and contrary to local plans. I will support good development and oppose inappropriate proposals to protect the character of your village. Council Tax – Keep Council Tax as low as possible.
