Train services to and from Grantham are likely to be disrupted for safety checks.

Hull Trains, which operates services from Hull to London via Grantham, says several passengers operating companies are affected by the move.

The company said: "A number of Class 800 series Hitachi trains from several train companies have been taken out of service today for checks as a precautionary measure.

"This problem is being investigated by Hitachi and once trains have been checked, we hope to be able to release them back into service as soon as possible.

"This could affect a significant number of services on Hull Trains and passengers should check before they travel."

Hull Trains, which is part of FirstGroup PLC, operates 92 services a week between Hull and London.

Last month, it resumed services after a pause during lockdown restrictions, as Nub News reported, with more services planned from May 17.
