Hot food back on Grantham LNER trains

Hot food is back on the menu for London North Eastern Railway (LNER) customers from tomorrow (Wednesday).
The train company, which operates many services to and from Grantham, continues to reintroduce catering services.
Customers in First Class will receive a complimentary breakfast offer from a menu that includes bacon rolls, Quorn sausage muffins and Danish pastries. These will be served until 10am.
Customers travelling after then will be able to enjoy a choice of sandwiches, crisps, biscuits and snacks and a hot or cold drink until 10pm.
Hot sandwiches and meal deals will be reintroduced in Standard Class and will be available from the Cafe Bar in addition to the snacks and beverages already on sale.
LNER Customer Experience Director, Claire Ansley, said: "We're delighted to be able to offer a selection of hot food to our customers once again as we further enhance our catering following its temporary suspension during lockdown.
"Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we want people to enjoy the best possible experience when travelling with us. Everyone's safety remains our top priority. Our teams and suppliers are committed to further extending our onboard catering in due course."
LNER says it works with and supports regional suppliers along the East Coast route to source the very best in produce. The return of hot food follows the reintroduction of refreshments and snacks at the end of July, with the catering offer being redesigned to minimise contact between customers and staff. LNER services remain alcohol free.
From tomorrow (Wednesday) an 'at seat' service will resume for customers travelling in first class, enhancing their onboard experience and improving their journey.
