Have your say on Grantham's former Urgent Treatment Centre

By The Editor 6th Jul 2021

Healthwatch wants to hear about people's experience of using Urgent Treatment Centres at Grantham and elsewhere in Lincolnshire.

If patients have recently used one, the group wants to know how it was like and what might have been done better.

The plea comes as the Urgent Treatment Centre at Grantham Hospital has been 'restored' back to an Accident & Emergency unit, along with other hospital changes, though the A&E does not operate 24/7 as the Urgent Treatment Centre did.

Grantham Hospital lost its A&E last year as part of changes introduced by the United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust to create a Covid-19 free 'green zone' on the hospital site so it could focus on cancer and other treatments during the pandemic.

The Urgent Treatment Centre, however, was instead operated by the Lincolnshire Community Health Services Trust.

Healthwatch Lincolnshire posted on its website: "What we hear from you will be used to tell those who plan and pay for NHS services, what you think, and to help improve things, we are keen to hear about your experience of accessing Urgent Treatment Centres at this time with coronavirus."
