- a clothes collection Proceeds from the sales will go to AfghanAid, a British charity working on the ground in Afghanistan for 40 years. A donation will also be made to Combat Crisis a veterans mental health organisation to support those who have carried out tours of Afghanistan and those coming back from the evacuation operation. Donated clothes, shoes and toiletries will be sent up to Manchester via Care4Calais to help the arriving refugees. Alternatively, if people cannot make the morning they can give via this fundraising page. Organiser Cate Taylor said: "No one can fail to have been moved by the humanitarian crisis caused by the recent exchange of power in Afghanistan. For those left behind, the future looks incredibly uncertain. "For close to 40 years, Afghanaid has worked with millions of vulnerable Afghans across Afghanistan, providing them with the training and tools they need to help themselves, their families and their communities. "Your support could really make a difference to those who need it most. Please give generously to provide urgent, life-saving assistance to men, women and children in Afghanistan who have been affected by conflict. Thank you!"
