A Grantham town centre wine bar re-opens this evening.

The Eden Wine Bar and Restaurant announced its closure last month.

Former owners Chris and Theresa Duggan blamed the pandemic, as reported by Nub News.

The closure led to hundreds of comments on social media from customers disappointed at the news, and joy when it was announced the venture would re-open under new ownership.

Company records list the new owners of the premises at 6 Market Place as Mr Dilum Punchihewa, 46, and Mrs Danushka Punchihewa, 38.

The venture was due to re-open earlier in September, but this was delayed for legal reasons. The premises also appears to have undergone a revamp.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the couple said: "We are very excited to open our doors tonight (Thur) and welcome you all. "

Doors will open at 5.30pm with dinner service starting from 6pm.
