Grantham police have blasted the theft of a statue from the town's crematorium as the 'lowest of the low.'

Officers posted on twitter: "It is with great sadness and disappointment that we report a stature has been stolen from a grave at Grantham Crematorium, Harrowby Road."

The theft of the statue (pictured above) is said to have occurred some time in the past two weeks.

Their statement continued: "To whoever did this, this really is the lowest of the low, come on Grantham, do the right thing. If you know where it is, let's get it back!"
