Grantham pensioner given suspended prison sentence for outraging public decency

A pensioner has been handed an eight-week suspended prison sentence for masturbating in public in Grantham.

Seventy-four-year-old Roger Long, of Gloucester Road, Grantham, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Friday (3 Jan) to face a charge of committing 'an act outraging public decency' in a public place, namely masturbating, on 11 September, 2019.

Long, who had previously pleaded guilty to the offence, was given an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a victim services surcharge of £122.
