Grantham MP Gareth Davies yesterday quizzed the Prime Minister about the need for better healthcare to serve the town's growing population.
His move at Prime Minister's Qunstion Time follows the fifth anniversary of the downgrading of Grantham Hospital's A&E to a daytime only service, instead of being 24/7 as it was until September 2016.
The MP, who was elected in 2019, asked: "The growing populations of Grantham and Stamford require a long-term integrated healthcare strategy.
"Can the Prime Minister confirm what action the Government are taking to implement regular reviews of healthcare provision to meet the future needs of my constituency?"
Boris Johnson replied: "My hon. Friend is quite right; he is a great advocate for the people of Grantham and Stamford.
"The Health and Care Bill will ensure that there are integrated healthcare partnerships, bringing together local authorities and local healthcare, but there is more to be done, and that will be done in the forthcoming White Paper."
Mr Davies explained on Facebook last night: "My PMQ today sought assurances that measures will be introduced to mandate local healthcare leaders to form a long-term strategy in order to account for population growth.
"We know the population in Grantham and Stamford is projected to grow by 9% by 2035 with a greater proportion of people aged 65 and over, it is therefore vital that steps are taken to ensure that both GP providers and hospitals coordinate to meet the long-term needs of residents."
On Tuesday, Mr Davies, who has a background in finance, quizzed the Chancellor about investment.
The MP asked in Parliament: "What fiscal steps he is taking to incentivise businesses to invest in new infrastructure and equipment."
Rishi Sunak replied: "The Prime Minister is rightly ushering in an infrastructure revolution because infrastructure drives growth and productivity and creates jobs.
"We are doing that with over £100 billion of investment this year and, thanks to the efforts of the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, a world-leading UK Infrastructure Bank created and set up in Leeds."
The MP, who grew up in the Leeds area and campaigned for such a development bank, also asked the Chancellor: "The Infrastructure Forum recently published a report that showed clearly that the super deduction is already having an impact, accelerating investment by businesses.
"Will my right hon. Friend join me in encouraging businesses across Grantham and Stamford to take up the relief, and does he agree that this is exactly the kind of investment that will boost jobs and level up our country?"
Mr Sunak replied: "From the Office for Budget Responsibility to the Bank of England, many people have described the super deduction as doing exactly what my hon. Friend has said, and that is why we know it is working.
"I recently visited BT, for example, which, because of the super deduction, is now increasing the speed of its roll-out to millions more houses and creating thousands of new jobs in the process.
"My hon. Friend is absolutely right, and I encourage his businesses to take up the super deduction, and, indeed, we see that; a Deloitte survey recently showed that business intentions to invest in this country are the highest they have been in years."
