Helping with the supervision and training of our apprentice chef Who we are:

The Geese and Fountain (that's us) is an award winning real ale pub, with a strong focus on locally sourced ingredients, sustainability and accessibility. Opened in 2015 by Nick Holden and Kate Ahrens, we are a family-run pub with a small but dedicated team. Nestled in the picturesque village of Croxton Kerrial, we take our environmental footprint very seriously sourcing our food and beer from as locally as possible and we run on 100% renewable energy. Our food is made from scratch in almost all cases, including pâtés, sauces and burger buns.

We don't have a formal hierarchy within our kitchen team, instead we aim to create an informal friendly atmosphere in the kitchen as well as in the bar. We strive to be welcoming and inclusive to people of all backgrounds and identities, particularly people of colour, lgbtq+ people and disabled people who are often (intentionally and unintentionally) excluded from pubs. We have regular staff meetings and positively encourage all our staff to contribute ideas on the running of the pub. As a result we have a fantastic team of long term staff, and positively promote career development.

What we offer:

Independence, responsibility, opportunity to build real connections with customers & other staff, regular shift pattern, three pub cats (to play with, not to keep), friendly and welcoming staff, opportunities to develop menus, the real living wage. References:

Please provide two references & their phone number - at least one must be from when you were working as a chef.
