Ward volunteers are being sought by a hospice at Grantham Hospital.

Lincolnshire-based charity St Barnabas Hospice has issued an appeal following the easing of restrictions to allow the charity to welcome back volunteers at Grantham and Lincoln Hospitals.

A spokesman said: "The role includes talking to patients and visitors, supporting nursing and kitchen staff with meals and drink provision and creating a warm and welcoming environment.

"Extensive training and safeguarding will be in place, and a minimum commitment of twelve months with at least one shift per fortnight is required.

"Shift times are 10.45am to 2pm and 3.30/4.30pm to 6pm. Shifts are available any day of the week."

The appeal in Facebook added: "Visit www.stbarnabashospice.co.uk/volunteer to apply, or call 01522 518 221 for more information."
