A Grantham homewares store is set to open on Saturday morning.

Alexander Kent Interiors was born during the pandemic and describes itself as a "home interiors, gifts and lifestyle brand."

The business has operated online since 2020, but will be opening its first store in the George Centre, as previously reported by Nub News.

Owner Alex Smyth from Barrowby Gate launched the business after being made redundant after working 15 years for the Arcadia Group (TOPSHOP / TOPMAN) as a Manager.

The business allowed him to follow his passion for interiors and he is keen to support the high street.

The 34-year-old is currently making the finishing touches to the store, situated in a former vape shop, and installing stock in time for Saturday's 9.30am opening.

After the exterior was completed several days ago, Alex posted on Facebook : "I have dreamed of this day for so long … to finally see our name above the door of our very first Boutique is just amazing!!

"I know it's just a shop sign but it means so much to see it coming to life."

He continued: "We will be launching lots of exciting new products and have collaborated with some beautiful suppliers to make this dream come true, I cannot wait to share the next chapter with you.

"I'm exhausted, tired and emotional (happy emotional)… but wouldn't change it for the world."

Alex added: "Thank you for all your support we're nearly there, and cannot wait for you all to see inside our new home xxx ."
