A statue that was stolen from a grave at Grantham Crematorium has been replaced, thanks a town funeral director.

Last week, Grantham Police reported the theft of the statue, which they branded the 'lowest of the low.'

Today, they reported "some lovely news."

Grantham Police continued on social media: "Price and Son Independent Family Funeral Directors have very kindly replaced the statue and sent some flowers to the lady who reported this.

"Acts of kindness like this really do help restore our faith in society.

"Unfortunately, we have not yet located the offender. If you have any information, please call 101 quoting incident 223 20/04 or email [email protected].

"We continue to monitor this location."
